Are you looking for an inkjet printer that can make copies too? If so, you are going to want to look at the HP Photosmart C4180, especially if you are looking to print photos from home. Able to create up to 3,000 pages every month, it should more than handle the needs and operations of most home users. With a very light weight of 11.9 pounds, you will find this machine easy to move around or even travel with, and its size is small to. It measures in at a compact 17.1×22.3×6.4 inches, which shouldn’t take up too much room at all. It comes standard with 32 MB of memory; however, sadly that cannot be upgraded. The C4180 can connect via USB, and offers direct printing from a few different memory cards, like Memory Stick Pro, Memory Stick Duo, MultiMediaCard, CompactFlash, Memory Stick and SD Memory Cards.

The copier and printer both work at fast speeds of up to 30 pages for minute in black-and-white and 24 pages per minute in color. Resolutions as high as 1200×1200 dpi and 4800×1200 dpi are even possible for monochrome and color prints, respectively. The addition scanner has the ability to reach resolutions of 19200×19200 dpi. It has the ability to print on quite a few types of media too—like transparencies, labels, cards, iron-on transfers, plain paper, photo paper and envelopes.

Consumers tend to really like the HP Photosmart C4180. One of the praises over and over again was the fact that the machine was so easy to setup, and the standalone printing option gets praised over and over again too. Most find it inexpensive to maintain and operate, and many find it to be very versatile all around. There aren’t too many complaints when it comes to the C4180, making it a wonderful addition to any home office.

Large offices with large printing needs should seek the HP Color LaserJet Enterprise CP4020. While most business or office printers are geared towards the black-and-white printing that takes up the majority of the office, there are businesses that wish to have color printing in place. This model is the perfect fit for these cases. With speeds of up to 35 pages per minute for monochrome and color prints, alike, it competes with similar models, and it also offers a first page out time for both of 9.5 seconds or below. That means, you won’t find yourself waiting around for prints often. It also has the ability to create up to 100,000 pages every month, which should suffice for most offices.

The CP4020 uses four toner cartridges for operation—black, cyan, yellow and magenta. Unlike many units on the market, the resolutions for black-and-white and color prints are the same at 1200×1200 dpi. This means your monochrome documents will be virtually flawless, and all documents you produce with look sharp and professional.

Upon purchase, 512 MB of memory are included; however, this can be upgraded at anytime to anywhere up to 1 GB of memory depending on your needs. It also has an 800 MHz processor, and comes with two paper trays. You can, however, add a third paper tray if you desire. Papers such as plain, bond, light, recycled, heavy, glossy, preprinted, pre-punched, rough, colored, label, envelopes and opaque are all supported, as well as sizes of up to 8.5×14 inches.

One downside to the Enterprise CP4020 is its heavy weight of 84.6 pounds, which will be quite heavy to lift. It is rather compact, though, at only 21.3×20.6×16.5 inches. It also connected via USB cords; however, that is not included upon purchase and must be connected before printing can start. Whether you have a Windows, Mac, Linux, Citrix or Novell operating system, you are covered—this HP is compatible with almost any platform.

With a monthly duty cycle of 120,000 pages, the HP Color LaserJet Enterprise CP5520 was made with large offices in mind. A workgroup color laser printer, it creates decent resolutions of 600×600 dpi, which will leave text documents looking flawless but graphics looking grainy. It offers ethernet and USB connection, and the CP5520 is compatible with Linux, Windows and Mac operating systems. It has 1 GB of RAM installed upon purchase, but unlike similar units, that cannot be upgraded at all to fit your offices needs. It also comes standard with networking capabilities.

If you want to print on multiple media types, the CP5520 has got you covered. It has the ability to support medias like envelopes, labels, transparencies, plain paper, cards, glossy paper, bond paper and recycled paper. The smallest size of paper it accepts is 3×5 inches, and the largest size is 12.3×18.5 inches. In its input trays it can hold a maximum of 300 sheets.

When it comes to speed, the HP Color LaserJet Enterprise CP5520 excels. When printing in black-and-white or color, it can produce up to 40 pages per minute. It also startups quickly with a 10 second first page out time.

In order to operate this machine, you are going to need to keep four toner cartridges stocked and ready to print. Black, cyan, magenta and yellow are the four needed, and the upfront price of these cartridges looks very expensive. However, the cost per page is comparable to similar machines on the market.

Like many units on the market, you will have to buy the USB required for connection separately, which could put a damper on your purchase. The upfront cost is also pretty expensive, but users claim it is worth the money. The CP5520 also offers mobile printing with HP ePrint features included. Overall, this machine is quite a buy.

For those looking for an inkjet printer for the home or small office, HP is a great place to look—more specifically, the HP Deskjet D2600. Though this isn’t the flashiest or most impressive machine on the market, it will add efficiency and reliability in both color and black-and-white. With speeds of 28 pages per minute for black-and-white prints and 21 pages per minute for color, you will find that compared to similar models, this unit is pretty fast. It can also print color photos in as short as 32 seconds each, meaning you will be able to print almost two photos every minute.

The machine uses two HP D2600 ink cartridges—black and tricolor. The tricolor is filled with cyan, magenta and yellow ink. When printing in black-and-white, resolutions of 600 dpi are possible, and resolutions as high as 4800×1200 dpi can be reached when printing in color. Up to 1,000 pages can be printed each and every month.

Although this is one of the most popular HP inkjet printers on the market, reviews of the HP D2600 are very mixed. Many users find that the unit is very durable, no matter what it may go through in a typical day, and its portability, lightweight and small size are all praised often. Consumers rate it as easy to setup and find that it is very easy to use too. While there are a plethora of positive reviews, there are just as many negative reviews. Many consumers complain about the lack of USB cable upon purchase, and quite a few also complain about the amount of printer jams this machine tends to endure. However, overall everyone seems to agree that it exerts high quality at decent speeds.

Overall the HP Deskjet D2600 is not the highest rated nor the lowest rated machine in its class, and it falls somewhere in the middle. It won’t be the most impressive addition to your home or small office, but it may be the most durable.

Small office users shouldn’t have to sacrifice great features just because they have limited space or a limited budget. The HP OfficeJet 4500 multifunction laser printer is proof that you can have a powerful machine at a great price, and it is small enough to fit into a tight office space. In addition to its low price, the cost of HP 4500 ink will save money.

The unit can print, scan, copy and fax. It not only includes wired ethernet support, but also has Wi-Fi support built right in, making it easy to connect to an existing wireless network. It can even act as a wireless hub if desired, allowing other machines to connect to it directly, even without a router.

While many budget machines skimp on extras like a USB cable, the HP 4500 includes that, a phone cable and even a line adapter for faxing. This is a pleasant surprise for such an inexpensive machine. The 20-sheet automatic document feeder is a productivity booster, as it means not having to feed pages one at a time when faxing, copying or scanning.

The cost of OfficeJet 4500 ink cartridges is very low. The small capacity of HP 4500 ink cartridges is somewhat disappointing, but using third-party compatible OfficeJet 4500 ink will keep costs down and provide a lower cost per page that will save money in the long run.

The only major criticism of the printer would be its slower printing speeds. When printing at the best quality settings, its speed is only around 6 pages per minute for black and 4 pages per minute for color. It is capable of faster speeds, but mainly in draft mode.

Small office users will find a lot to like about the HP OfficeJet 4500. It has great features at a low price, and the cost of HP 4500 ink won’t break the bank. If you can put up with its slow speeds, it is an excellent value for the price.

While the HP OfficeJet J3600 inkjet is a fax machine at heart, it is capable of printing, scanning and copying as well. The majority of users will likely buy it for its excellent faxing capabilities and will probably be very satisfied with its performance. Print speed is fast at up to 20 pages per minute for black and 14 pages per minute for color. HP J3600 ink is a little more expensive than average.

The machine has a compact design, measuring 7 inches by 16.8 inches by 8 inches, and weighs only 8.6 pounds. Its small size and weight make it a great choice for the home or small office user who is short on space. Its modern black and white design is a nice break from the traditional beige, but some users might find it distracting or unappealing. The fact that the machine has only an automatic document feeder could be a problem for some, as it limits the usefulness of its copy and scan functions especially.

The main drawback of the unit might be the cost of OfficeJet J3600 ink cartridges. The HP J3600 ink cartridges not only cost more than competing models, but they have smaller capacities. These smaller capacities make HP J3600 ink more expensive on a cost per page basis, and this extra cost for printer ink can add up over time.

The main complaint from user reviews of the HP J3600 inkjet is that the HP J3600 ink cartridges do not live up to their estimated capacities but need replacing earlier than estimated. Otherwise, users like the low cost and functionality of the machine and find it to be a good value overall.

Home and small office users alike will be attracted to the many features and affordable price of the HP OfficeJet J3600. It has nearly every function an office could need, as long as the lack of a flatbed scanner and the higher price of printer ink are not serious deterrents.

The HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 is a multifunction inkjet printer that provides excellent office features and sharp print quality in a compact and affordable package. Designed for home and small office environments, it also has wireless printing support and fast speeds of up to 35 pages per minute for black and 34 pages per minute for color. HP 8000 ink is inexpensive, and XL cartridges add even more value.

One of the main highlights of the HP 8000 is certainly its wireless networking support. It can integrate into your existing wireless network with ease, or it can even act as a hub for other devices to connect to directly. Wireless setup is simple and allows users to print from almost anywhere in the house or office without messy wires. The unit is fairly compact, measuring 23.5 inches by 13 inches by 20 inches and weighs around 25 pounds. Print, copy and scan functions are all included, with a flatbed scanning surface but no automatic document feeder. The large 250-sheet input tray will appeal to busy users who won’t have to reload paper often.

OfficeJet Pro 8000 ink cartridges have a low cost per page, and using the XL HP 8000 with more capacity than the standard printer ink cartridges, results in an even lower cost per page that is easy on the budget. Duplexing (two-sided printing) also keeps paper costs lower when enabled. EnergyStar certification will also save energy.

User reviews of the HP 8000 are somewhat mixed. Many praise its low price and the economical OfficeJet Pro ink costs. They also like the wireless capabilities and the ease of setup. Some users complain of setup problems, especially for wireless, and some paper jams and other build quality issues.

Overall, home and small office users who want wireless printing will want to consider the HP OfficeJet Pro 8000. It offers excellent print quality and fast speeds for a very low price.

The HP LaserJet 1600 is a color laser printer designed for the small or medium office environment. It is very affordable for its class and performance, and HP 1600 toner cartridges are very affordable as well, giving it a very low cost of ownership. Print speed is a bit on the slow side at 8 pages per minute for both black and color prints.

The HP 1600 can handle a wide variety of media types, including plain paper, glossy photo paper, transparencies, envelopes, labels, and cardstock among others. The unit connects via USB, but has not ethernet networking port for sharing across a network. The unit measures 14.6 inches by 16 inches by 17.8 inches, and weighs 40.6 pounds, so it will take up a fair amount of space in an office, and it will require help to move it into place.

LaserJet 1600 toner cartridges are divided into the standard CMYK configuration. There are individual toners for each color, making it easy to replace only the color printer toner that has run out. The black HP 1600 toner has a capacity of 2,500 pages, while each color LaserJet 1600 toner cartridge has a capacity of 2,000 pages.

In their review of the HP 1600, HardwareCentral.com found its low price appealing and its print quality to be excellent. They disliked the inclusion of “starter cartridges” rather than full-capacity cartridges, and found that this factor would likely cancel out the unit’s affordable upfront price. They also had a few technical issues with error messages cropping up occasionally, but were able to fix them with help from the manual.

Overall, the HP LaserJet 1600 is a solid choice for a small or medium office environment. While its printing speed is not the fastest in its class and its starter cartridges are disappointing, it will impress with its low price and reliability. The affordable cost of printer toner makes it a very economical printing solution, especially over the long run.

The HP Color LaserJet CP4525 is a color laser printer designed for the medium or large office environment. Its stellar network integration and blazing fast speeds make it an excellent choice for enterprise environments.

The HP CP4525 is all business, but its color printing capabilities allow for a lot of creativity as well. Its design is surprisingly compact when considering its speed and paper capacities, although adding more paper capacity will of course add to its size. The printer measures 16.5 inches by 21.3 inches by 20.6 inches, and weighs 84.9 pounds. Initial paper capacity is 600 sheets, but it can be upgraded to a maximum of 2,100 sheets if needed by adding optional trays.

Along with a USB connection, the CP4525 has built-in ethernet that can support any speed up to gigabit ethernet. It has an integrated print server with a wide range of features for managing print jobs, changing settings, and other tasks. The printer can support a large number of users with its 800 MHz processor and 512 MB of RAM. Unfortunately, the RAM can not be upgraded, but it is unlikely that even the largest office would need more memory.

HP LaserJet CP4525 toner cartridges have a capacity of 11,000 pages for each color and 17,000 for black, so even an enterprise office will not need to replace the HP CP4525 toner cartridges often. The HP CP4525 toner cartridges are in the standard configuration of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black.

Print speed is a very fast 42 pages per minute. Print quality is excellent across the board. Text quality is some of the best available on the market. Graphics and color quality is stellar as well. Photos are nearly as good as a dedicated photo printer, at a much faster print speed.

Overall, the HP Color LaserJet CP4525 is an expensive printer, but for the enterprise office that needs speed, quality, and reliability, you can’t go wrong with the CP4525.
