DEMOCR300 Popular HP LaserJet Printers

HP is one of the most reliable and high-quality manufacturers of laser printers on the market.  Their name is associated with quality products, and their customers expect the best from each laser printer.  Reliability, quality, and low cost combine to make some of the best products on the market.

Today we take a look at some of HP’s most popular models, and compare the features of each.  We will also take a look at what some of the best reviewers on the web have to say about each model.

These models include:
•       HP LaserJet 2600
•       HP LaserJet 4710
•       HP LaserJet CP2025

1. HP LaserJet 2600

The LaserJet 2600 aims to be an affordable option for color laser printing.  While its color quality will not meet that of a high-quality inkjet printer, it is good enough for occasional office use, and its text quality is excellent.  Its 250-sheet paper capacity is roomy.  The 2600N model includes built-in ethernet networking, and the 2600DN adds automatic duplexing as well.

Cnet reviewers liked its inexpensive price, its ease of use, and its excellent black text quality, but felt its slow printing speeds would be too slow for a networked office.  They also didn’t like its expensive toner costs.  Using third-party compatible HP 2600 toner cartridges will help reduce toner costs, making it a much more affordable machine to run.

 2. HP LaserJet 4710

Users in a more high-volume printing environment may want to consider a faster model, such as the LaserJet 4710, part of the 4700 series of printers.  While it is more expensive than the 2600, it is also much faster, able to print at speeds up to 31 pages per minute in both black and color printing.  It has a single-pass engine that prints from all three color cartridges at once, instead of doing multiple passes for each color.  This allows it to reach its impressive printing speeds.

Laserprintercenter.com liked its paper-handling and reliability, as well as its ease of use.  They didn’t like its high price and a few of its design decisions, such as exposing the unit each time you replace the HP 4710 toner cartridges.

 3. HP LaserJet CP2025

Users who find the LaserJet 2600 too limited and the LaserJet 4710 too expensive may find the LaserJet CP2025 to be the perfect fit.  It has faster printing speeds, at up to 21 pages per minute for black, but still has a lower price that makes it affordable for smaller offices.  HP CP2025 toner is also very affordable.

PC World praised its inexpensive price and decent speeds, and called its print quality “very good”, though they mentioned that build quality sometimes rattled and felt cheap.
