DEMOCR300 HP LaserJet 1000

The HP LaserJet 1000 offers personal laser printing at an affordable price. Its only real downfall for home users tends to be its lack of color printing capabilities, meaning it is a monochrome unit. For those who print only text documents in their home, like essays, book reports or legal documents, the LaserJet 1000 will be perfect for. However, if fast speeds are imperative, you may want to look elsewhere too. It only weighs 17.6 pounds, meaning it will be portable if needed, and it barely takes up any space with a size of only 16.3×19.1×10 inches.

At 10 pages per minute, those who print at large volumes may find this unit to be less than optimal. For most home users who print homework, office work or coupons, it should work just fine. Its maximum resolution of 600×600 dpi will leave photos or difficult graphics looking a little grainy, but will leave text documents looking sharp and professional. Due to the fact it is a monochrome device, you only need to maintain and replace one black HP 1000 toner cartridge, and that will last 2,500 pages before needing replaced.

DEMOCRLONG HP LaserJet 1000

Overall, consumers—old and new alike—tend to really like the HP LaserJet 1000. Most find that setup and installation are simple, and that the machine itself is easy to use as well. Users also tend to find the speed and quality to be sufficient, as well as the life of the toner cartridges. It is also praised for its low operating costs. However, along with the positives, come a few negatives, like lack of Mac compatibility. Some have also complained about the lack of connective options, since the machine offers only USB connective options.  For the most part, though, those who use the 1000 seem to be happy with its results.
