For small business owners with a small number of people under their employ, it can be hard to find a small monochrome printer that actually supports networking, but fortunately HP has developed the LaserJet P1505, combining the networking features of larger, more expensive models with the lower price and compact size of small business models.

This printer features Instant On, allowing users to get that first page lightning fast. Because this printer is Energy Star qualified, it is friendly to the environment, and it will be easy on the power bill.

Featuring technology such as HP Ret, 600 dpi, and HP FastRes 1200, this printer really delivers with it’s 2 meg onboard memory and 266 mhz processor. It even supports multiple types of paper such as Legal, letter, executive, postcards, and envelopes. The printer is capable of printing out 8000 sheets in a duty cycle.

The HP LaserJet P1505 is supported by multiple operating systems including Windows 2000, Windows XP Home, Windows XP Pro, Windows XP Pro x64, Windows Server 2003, and windows vista. There are also drivers for Mac OSX 10.3 and up.

It’s also fairly light, weighing in at just 12.9 pounds, and having an area of 1.49 x 9.6 x 8.9. While not the smallest printer around it is certainly good for those who don’t have a terribly large amount of space, or an entire utility closet to dedicate to printing out monochrome documents.

Toner cartridges are more expensive upfront than inkjet cartridges, and small business users may see that as a drawback at first, but the overall printing cost will be lower in the long-run, saving money for any business.
