Did you know that you can edit photos on your HP Photosmart all-in-one printers?  If you didn’t know that or if you do know and haven’t used the feature, you are missing out on one of the best features HP printers offer. With these simple steps, though, you can master the art of in-printer editing.

First, determine what you want, insert your memory card or USB cable into the printer and get started.

Removing red-eye is one of the easiest things to do.  All you need to do is hit the “Red-Eye Removal” button on the front of your printer. This simple task is one-touch, and it can be completed in a matter of seconds.

If you want to crop a photo using your Photosmart all in one, simply use the touchscreen to pick out the photo you would like to crop after you have downloaded your pictures onto the machine. Here you can zoom in or out and pick the diameters for your new photo.  Then you can view the photo to make sure it has been cropped exactly how you want it.

Adjusting the brightness of photos is sometimes a very important step because when taking pictures, you generally can’t control the light.  First, press “photos” on the touchscreen and then select “View and Print”.  From here, you need to touch the photo you want to edit and hit the “Edit” button.  Select the “Brightness” icon and increase or decrease according to what you want.

The last thing you can do is apply color effects to your photos—meaning black and white, sepia or antique settings.  All you need to do is select the “Color Effect” option from the editing menu and click the appropriate color effect that you want.

If this seems like too much work, there is also a Photo Fix option that will fix the photos automatically.  These steps are simple to do and will leave you with exactly the photo you want.
